Find Out Hilary Clinton's Reply To Chimamanda Adichie When She Confronts Hilary For Identifying Self As ''Wife''.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie confronts Hillary Clinton on why her Twitter bio leads with "wife"
 Chimamanda Adichie with Hilary Clinton.

Hilary Clinton, the former U.S. First Lady and U.S. presidential aspirant would never cease surprising her fans and winning the heart of many!

Despite all her achievements as a woman champion,Hilary Clinton has proven that she could not be complete without being called a ''wife''!

This makes it clear why she first identifies herself as a wife in her bio on twitter and not as ''Woman Champion'' as she fondly calls herself or even relate to any of her political achievements!

Hilary Clinton, the former U.S. First Lady,U.S. Secretary of State and U.S.presidential aspirant, honors herself as a ''wife''!

This self identity as a ''wife'' irritates Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie,a writer and strong advocate of feminism that she confronted Hilary Clinton with it while interviewing her at PEN World Voices Festival at the Cooper Union in Manhattan.

Below is Chimamanda's reaction and the response of Hilary Clinton to her:

''In your Twitter account, the first word that describes you is ‘Wife.’ And then I think it’s ‘Mom,’ and then it’s ‘Grandmother'. And when I saw that, I have to confess that I felt just a little bit upset. And then I went and I looked at your husband’s Twitter account, and the first word was not ‘husband.’

In reply,Clinton said to Chimamanda:

You know, at the end of the day, it won’t matter if you got a raise, it won’t matter if you wrote a great book, if you are not also someone who values relationships.

Then she continued:

''It shouldn’t be either/or. It should be that if you are someone who is defining yourself by what you do and what you accomplish, and that is satisfying, then more power to you. That is how you should be thinking about your life, and living it. If you are someone who primarily defines your life in relationship to others, then more power to you, and live that life the way Barbara Bush lived that life, and how proud she was to do it.
But I think most of us as women in today’s world end up in the middle. Wanting to have relationships, wanting to invest in them, nurture them, but also pursuing our own interests.''

Now I  ask: Has Chimamanda's advocacy for feminism gotten to the extent that a wife should not be proud to be recognized as a wife anymore?

I really respect the person of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a strong woman with a powerful voice,a woman whose piece of writing is capable of making minds turn around, but you see this issue of a wife not trying to be recognized as a wife of a man? I total disagree with her and honestly without pretense, frown at it!

Now I can see and everyone can see the obvious reason why Chimamanda, refuses to be identified as a married woman to her husband!

She detest it so much that instead of writing Mrs... she chose to be called Ms.( Marriage Suspended) even when she is still in marriage blessed with a daughter!

Hilary Clinton indeed is a Woman's Champion''! ..''at the end of the day, it won’t matter if you got a raise, it won’t matter if you wrote a great book, if you are not also someone who values relationships''
she quotes and I wish this young lady,Chimamanda Adichie listens and hears!!!
